Using Topo Maps to Design Stand Locations

Always start with the topo map, even if you don’t have much topography. It tells you everything you need to know about where deer have to and want to live and walk. From there, we improve the habitat to give bucks a reason to use pinch points more often and during daylight hours. Combined with safe hunting access, these tactics will make deer stand locations much more effective for the entire season. Mapping: Northwoods Mapping, Scott Abel
